My Thoughts on No Man´s Sky

When No Man's Sky was first announced it sparked the inner child and imagination of gamers the world over and I was no different. The graphics and gameplay seemed amazing, all of the planets seemed unique and rich with both plant and animal life and it seemed like an adventure that I and the entire world wanted to go on.

That being said, Hello Games and their game, No Man's Sky was marketed in such a way that it let the consumers create the product expectations. Which would later lead to major disappointments and blame laid squarely on the shoulders of Sean Murray. Now, many people blame Mr. Murray, saying that he outright lied about the games content and whereas I can genuinely understand where people are coming from I don't feel like they're being really fair.

I mean who hasn't gotten excited about a project that they're doing and blow it out of proportion, or simply taken on more work than they could possibly handle due to excitement. I mean I know I have.

Sure, Mr. Murray shouldn't have said most of what he did until everything was 100% certain but I feel that it was a mixture of both his excitement and wanting his game to be the best it could possibly be. It seems to me he wanted to implement all of the new ideas coming at him and simply couldn't due to time restraints.

That being said, I think Sony deserves the blame more than Mr. Murry simply because they should have provided a PR person for him to promote the game. Instead of putting a man with little to no experience at the helm and throwing him and Hello Games under the bus when it backfired.

I think that the reason, the real reason No Man's Sky was pushed out the way it originally was with almost no feature and wonky spaceship battles was that Sony was pushing Hello Games to do so. Now, I have no evidence of this but it's what makes the most sense to me, and it's something that's been done in the past.

If you go back and you watch the interviews and if you go over the story in game you can see quite clearly that Murray, and his team at Hello Games, has a very idealistic and naive sense of the world. So, in my mind I think that for the most part he really thought that he and his team would be able to implement all of the game aspects he promised. However, when Sony, their parent company came knocking at the door demanding the game it simply wasn't ready, but they had to deliver.

So instead of being honest with his fanbase (which maybe he couldn´t be due to Sony) about the state of the game, which totally could have saved his reputation in the moment. Murray, and his company, immediately set to work on the Foundation Update which I have been playing. And honestly the update is amazing. I just wonder what would have happened had they been given more time.

Murray should have been upfront but my guess is that he really thought they would be able to accomplish everything it just sort of fell through. But, I think he and his company learned the lesson because when they launched the the foundation update he said he didn't want to say anything until it wasn't 100% certain

And now they´re currently looking for a writers, QA testers, and programmers and if you have experience in any of these fields and want to work for Hello Games visit http://www.hellogames.org/2016/12/were-hiring/. I would have loved to see this happen before I'm glad to see it's happening now.

I was a bit annoyed at first with the game and its many bugs at launch but this new update has me hopeful and ready to play more No Man's Sky. What do you think of No Man´s Sky and  Hello Games? Pokemon Go New Pokemon Discovered. Ditto!

I was so happy to find out today that Ditto has finally been released on Pokemon Go. I really didn´t think that they would launch him. For my fellow trainers who want to find and capture Ditto, there´s a trick to it. Ditto will disguise himself as any other pokemon, Pidgeys, Ratatas and Zubats, Charmanders anything and when you capture it, it will then change to a Ditto. So, what do you guys think? I am super excited about this and I guess this can mean that in some moment they can add Mew and Mew 2. I´m so happy and I look forward to seeing more updates and new pokemon soon.

Which undiscovered pokemon do you look forward to seeing in pokemon go? Leave a comment and let me know.

Pokémon Go! Review

When I was a kid like so many other kids who were around in the late 90´s I was obsessed with pokémon. Pokémon Indigo was released in the US in September of 1998 and it's the story of a young boy who once he turns ten years old is able go on the road to becoming a pokemon trainer and along his journey he meets trouble as well new friends.

So, when I heard that Niantic was making pokemon go and the ability to catch pokémon in real life, I was instantly brought back to my days of playing Pokémon red on my gameboy color. So, after many long weeks of constantly checking everyday to see if pokémon go had launched in Argentina, I was finally happy to see Pokémon go in the Google app store.

I downloaded it and made my avatar and chose my very first Pokémon a Bulbasaur but you can choose between Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Pikachu. To get Pikachu you have to walk past the other three options.
From Left to right: Bulbasaur, Pikachu,
Squirtle, Charmander
And talking about walking, the whole idea is to get people out and about and this app encourages you to do just that. First you have to walk to pokéstops near you or you can visit ones that are a bit far and for walking you are rewarded at pokestops with pokeballs to catch pokémon, Revives for your pokémon after they use up all their HP at a gym, Potions to recover hp and eggs which can hatch to get pokemon. In order to hatch eggs you have three options: As far as distance that you have to walk into order to hatch them, you have 2, 5, and 10 kilometers. The 2 kilometer eggs seem to be your basic ratatas, weedles, pidgey´s and caterpies with the occasional Zubat. The 5 kilometer eggs have more chances to get rare pokemon but what you really want is the 10 kilometer eggs, to give you an idea the last 10 kilometer egg I hatched I got ponyta. At pokestops you can also win more incubators you originally get one infinite but you can only use it once at a time, that is unless, you use one of the extra incubators. Then you can do two or more eggs at a time. Also you can put lures at pokéstops so you can lure near you for 30 minutes.

As far as avatar creation it´s very minimal. There are very few options, I would love to be able to change hairstyles. You only have a spiky hairstyle for guys and a ponytail for girls. And there are very few clothes and some are only available in certain colors.

I really like the overall idea of the game, the fact that you can literally go out on a pokemon adventure just like Ash in the anime, but I wish you could battle other pokemon with your pokemon. I mean when you catch a wild pokemon it´s just you, the wild pokemon and a pokeball. Whereas in the games and in the anime it clearly states that unless it´s a really weak pokemon taking out your pokeball to catch it randomly without attacking it with one of your pokemon will almost never work. I hope with time they will change that aspect of the game and I also hope that soon you can battle with other people.

Once you reach level five and go to a gym you will be able to pick which team you would like to be on either: Team Instinct (Yellow), Team Mystic (Blue) or my team, Team Valor (Red Team). Once you pick a team you'll be able to battle for your corresponding team at your local gym´s. Here is where you will really level up. Even if you lose you gain a ton of experience points. So, don't be afraid to get out there and give it a shot. You can always heal your pokemon when they get hurt.
