Vox Hit Rock Bottom AND KEPT DIGGING Hazbin Hotel Review Season 2 Ep 7–8

 

Hi guys welcome back, so they dropped the last two episodes of Hazbin Hotel Season 2 and… yeah. We have so much to talk about. Like, grab a snack, grab a blanket, grab your emotional support shark, Shok.wav, because we’re diving right into this. 

Episode 7 starts with Lucifer falling face first right into Vox’s trap. I love Lucifer, I really do, but the man walked into a giant spooky blue warehouse covered in VoxTech logos like it was a Walgreens. Did he really think Charlie was waiting for him there? This man is the King of Hell but still has the decision making skills of a Looney Tunes character who just follows signs that say “FREE PIE.” Honestly, the show is just every cartoon I love duct taped together and I’m obsessed.

Vox tries to give his big villain monologue and Lucifer absolutely SHREDS him. Like not teasing, no, he full on roasted him. Lucifer basically tells him “You will fail because you ARE a failure,” and I had to pause the episode to laugh. Vox trying to impress Lucifer is so painfully pathetic I almost felt bad… almost. What kills me is he’d probably succeed at half the stuff he wants if he wasn’t so busy comparing himself to Alastor like it’s a Sinstagram highlight reel.

After Vox's humiliation we see his office is in the BASEMENT of V Tower. He is literally a basement dweller. Canon confirmed. I screamed. Hes the head of the Vees and hes locked in the basement! Valentino and Velvette couldn't stand him so the put him down there, they definitely hated him from before!

The Brighter song? I loved it. And I need everyone who told me “Vox isn’t as bad as Alastor because he’s not a serial killer” to come to the front and APOLOGIZE. Yes he so is! He definitely has a kill count. Also his human form? Amazing. His official backstory? I absolutely loved it. Also the way he died had me in knots. How did he think it was a good idea to hook up a bunch of TVs in an aquarium? And tell me that blonde journalist in the flashback wasn’t Katie. Let me know what YOU think because I’m nosy. 

Then poor Charlie worried because she can't reach her dad. Im sorry, I feel like there are some people out there that completely forgot this scene. I mean she sent him a million ducks! 

And when Vox showed his weapon, The Might of Lilith, the only thing it reminded me of was Sir Pentious cannon from Season 1. I always wondered how Sir Pentious paid Carmine for supplies and I'm thinking he paid with his weapon schematics. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below. 

Also when Vox fires his weapon at heaven and Saint Peter is just spinning in the air terrified like an angelic fidget spinner? I died laughing talk about comedy gold. And I loved when Vox was thrilled while Velvette and Valentino look like they just found out they lost their credit card.

Vox threatens Heaven with a 24 hour deadline and Sera basically has a panic attack. Meanwhile Lute is glowing like she just won the vacation package on The Price Is Right while Charlie seemingly sees Sera freaking out and her brain just goes, “Yeah I could go for a panic attack right about now.” Thankfully Vaggie snaps everyone at the hotel back to reality because lets be honest she is definitely the emotional support girlfriend holding this entire world together.

Meanwhile back in Heaven Sera is spiraling while Abel, Lute, and Emily all talk over each other, like a chaotic family reunion, and only SIR PENTIOUS seems to notice Sera is struggling. This man has been in Heaven for five minutes and already has better emotional intelligence than the entire angel population. 

Sera snaps at him but he holds his ground, and then she apologizes through one of the best songs in the show and Pentious telling her that “people are just scared”? I gasped. If you want me to do a video ranking the songs from Season 2 just let me know. 

Then it dives back down to Vox admiring his own handiwork until Velvette calls mad at him for not warning her they were going to BREAK THE GATES OF HEAVEN. He brushes her off and he demands that she throw him a party so he can bask in his own glory. She corrects it to their moment, and Vox basically shrugs her off. Then Alastor shows up just to bully Vox because that is his cardio this season and he manages to manipulate Vox into inviting Charlie. 

Meanwhile Sera wants to try peace first, which I love because she’s actually learning to be accountable this season.Back at the hotel Charlie tries calling her mom and gets VOX instead, talk about rude but he  invites her to his party. Then Emily shows up and they come up with a plan to take down the Vees. 

Baxter told them that he would help because they folded his blanket just how he liked. So he assumed that made them best friends. He's talking about Vaggie, Vaggie in his mind is his best friend. So hes doing it for her and also definitely Nifty. Vaggie folding his blanket was probably the first nice thing anyone had done for him so of course he likes her. 

Baxter and Sir Pentious teaming up for the broadcast? Chef’s kiss, literally brilliant. Meanwhile Vox is spiraling into full delusion thinking he’s about to become God and wants to ditch Val and Velvette like old phone chargers. Valentino’s Disney princess moment honestly caught me off guard, like I kind of felt bad?? The man is in love and Vox treats him like a broken Roomba. I’m fully convinced Val will get redeemed one day, but it’ll take time because this guy is not exactly the brightest crayon in the box.

But Velvette cutting off Val and saying it like it is, I died laughing and the direct cut to Lucifer trapped and the only thing hes worried about is Charlie being mad at him. I swear, Lucifer is definitely one of the best characters. Then the part with Lute and Abel. Lute is kinda badass here but I can't wait to see her full villain arc its gonna be great. 

But I was really surprised by Sera's part mainly because she had visions of what would happen so she knew but still choose to do the extermination. I know she deserves a chance to make it right but still. 

Then we go into the final episode, episode 8, where Vaggie and Charlie lay out the plan to defeat Vox and the Vees. I thought it was so cute how Vaggie tells Nifty to guard Baxter with her life and she's like I can definitely do that. I swear I love Nifty so much. 

Charlie and Vaggie’s party outfits… listen. Love the hair. The outfits? Bad choices were made. Meanwhile Vox  looks like he walked straight out of The Matrix and I mean that as a compliment. I love his look. 

Also for those who missed it: YES Charlie was worried about Alastor. Yes she ran to help him. Vox shoved her out of the way. Girl is overwhelmed, let her breathe.

Camilla refusing to help Vaggie suprised me but Shok.wav being a good little guard shark made my heart melt. He’s just protecting his weird little family. I need him to be in every season and nothing bad should happen to this cutie. 

Baxter hacking Vox was great but Charlies presentation was hilarious especially the bit in the beginning where she forgot to delete the subtitle, as someone who edits video I thought that was extremely funny. 

Then Vaggie finding out that Voxs cannon is powered by Lucifer. I'm not sorry that interaction was hilarious. I saw a theory that said they think Lucifer has face blindness because he didnt recognize Vaggie right away and I kinda like this idea, tho it hasnt been confirmed so we will have to wait and see. 

I loved when Vox tries to interrupt Charlie, Baxter just puts him on mute that had me absolutely dying laughing. Then when Velvette stops Baxter and Nifty from streaming, she says that a little shark told her about them. I know hes on the wrong side but I absolutely love Shok.wav hes so freakin cute. He deserves all the snacks. I don't care what anyone says. 

Then Nifty tells Velvette what everyone has been thinking since we saw Velvette in this outfit, that shes super pretty only to tell her that she won't be for long. I love Nifty, shes the best little gremlin in the show. 

Charlie tries to connect with Sir Pentious in heaven but it doesn't work right away so Vox works on raising his volume and then we flash to Cherrie and Husk trying to wake up Angel. It breaks my heart that Angel fought them.

Then back to the fight with Nifty and Velvette. I absolutely love this sequence and I loved how she tells Velvette that Vaggie told her to protect Baxter so she will and then just proceeds to completely destroy her. 

And I absolutely love the fight between Husk and Valentino, that was top tier. I dont care what anyone says. Also I love Husk abilities. His magician magic is amazing. 

Then it shoots back to Charlie, Emily and Vox, Vox ties Emily to a chair, and starts to belittle Charlie and demands her to say that hes the best. Charlie tells him no but Alastor, with his crazy plans tells her to tell him hes the strongest, she doesnt want to but Alastor pushes because that's the deal they made last season. That she would one favor for him at a time of his choosing where she wouldn't harm anyone. 

Ive seen people say that he might be able to get more favors out of Charlie but the deal was clear, it was for one and hes used it up. I was definitely impressed at how quickly Alastor managed to solve 3 deals in a matter of like minutes. Im a bit disappointed that it didnt take him longer to solve the deal he made with Rosie but thats just how the cookie crumbles.

Then it was great seeing how Alastor just absolutely tears Vox apart. Calling him dumb and predictable because yeah he totally is. And the Alastor and Vox fight was amazing. I love how Alastor fights he basically just taunts his opponent into submission and when they are overwhelmed he attacks, it kinda reminds me of how Spiderman fights. 

Then it goes back to Cherrie and Husk fighting Valentino, Cherri and Husk get the slip on Val but he calls on Angel to save him, so yeah Angel wasn't being brainwashed by Vox here but he was being controlled by Val through his soul contract. 

It’s that deal that let Val force Angel to attack Cherri. And when Husk ran out of options, he hit Angel, because he had no idea how to snap him out of it. The second Angel realizes what’s happening, he freaks out and stops immediately. I felt so bad for him here, and Husk taking down Valentino was simply perfection. 

Back at the Alastor Vox fight, Vox is basically getting his butt handed to him but he calls Shok.wav. I loved how when Shok.wav sees Vox hurt, he recognises him as his Daddy. Thats too cute. I'm sorry. Shok.wav is the best animal sidekick. I love him. But Alastor's reaction to him was hilarious and Vox was so happy to see him but well if I had a cute pet shark Id be happy to see it too!

But I was not expecting Vox to speedrun destroying his reputation with his cannon vaporizing more sinners than the Exorsist took out in years all because he was gunning for Alastor.

I loved how Charlie was kinda in shock but Emily immediately leaps into action telling her that they have to save the more people possible and they instantly get on it. Also the people bad mouthing charlies shield need to leave it alone when she has it, shes using it. Plus whenever I see her shield it kinda reminds me to Captain America. Anyone else? 

Meanwhile Vaggie is trying desperately to break the weapon and free Lucifer, when suddenly Camilla notices. However it promptly cuts back to Nifty, Baxter and Velvette who are in the middle of their fight. I loved the double team between Baxter and Nifty to take out Velvette and when she gets thrown out the window and just breaks into pieces that was so cool. I especially loved that when they destroy her hair we see that Velvettes head is like a dolls with hair holes and everything tho I do wonder whos job is it to reroot her? Regardless as a doll lover I loved this extra layer to Velvette.

 

But I made an audible gasp when the cannon blew a hole into the building and just took out the servers and Baxter's laptop but despite everything our boy Sir Pentious managed to make the broadcast possible.  

Meanwhile Velvette manages to pull herself together and cut down Valentino, she's rightfully annoyed that Vox has lost it and Valentino couldn't be more attracted to him at the moment but Velvette tells him no like shes spraying water on a bad cat. 

Then back to Vaggie while she tries to destroy the cannon Camilla comes and decides to help her and they just gut Voxs machine. When Vox snaps out of it briefly and notices the crowd turning on him, sinners straight up booing him, it only fuels his rage and makes him double down on attacking Alastor. Meanwhile, Emily keeps working with Charlie to save demons, and Alastor is actually holding his own against Shok.wav and Vox… until Vox points that cannon at him and fires. And let’s be real: if Charlie hadn’t shouted for Emily, Alastor would’ve been fried.

Honestly, I think Emily saving Alastor, risking herself and losing her wing, might eventually crack open Alastor's worldview a bit. I think he might finally start realizing that not everyone wants something in return and not everyone is trying to use him. But I think that realization is going to take time. What do you think? 

Sera orders Abel and Lute to get Emily out of there but I really feel she should have waited. Meanwhile Vox, feeling he's close to godhood aims his cannon right at Emily, Charlie and Alastor. He wants to get rid of them all but Camilla tells him the cannon will overload and wipe out half of the city.  Vox loses the little sanity he had and tells her that he doesnt care so long as he wipes the smile off of Alastor's face but the tear running down his face says something else. He doesnt want to die but hes so lost he just cares about one uping Alastor, falling once again in his sin of envy. I really wanna see how Vox will eventually be redeemed. Ah, I can't wait to see it. 

Then Velvette and Valentino take out Vox if one fell swoop. Velvette kicks him off his pedestal and Valentino finally grows a backbone and tells Vox that hes not gonna kill them for Alastor and tries to get him to snap back to reality but Vox is so deluded that he thinks hes reached godhood Valentino whose had enough rips his head clean off his body, grabs Velvette and says that they are gonna go, only to realize that his wing is burnt and tattered and so he just walks away with them.

Unfortunately the cannon starts to overload and Charlie wants to try to clear out the people but Camilla tells her that theres no time, thats when Emily starts to use her magic and her voice to try to keep the weapon contained, Charlie joins in, Husk joins in, then Nifty. Im sorry but Im thinking that Husk and Nifty are going to be the next ones to be redeemed, they were the first overlords to step forward and both have been selfless and shown enormous growth since last season. What do you think? I was really surprised that Lute came to try and stop them, but luckily Abel grew a backbone finally and told her to stand down and yeah I don't care what anyone says Abel did it exactly right. So much so that Lute literally saw a glimpse of Adam in him. 

Just when it looks like all hope is gone, Camilla and Zestial step in, followed by the rest of the overlords. All of them show up… except Alastor, who’s hiding off to the side until Rosie suddenly pops up. She tells him he should help but since hes a deal maker hes like well pay me. 

Which to be honest makes sense for his character and now it seems he and Rosie have a new deal. I wonder what the deal is exactly because she fixed his staff, I'm guessing the deal was that if she fixed his staff he would protect Charlie and the hotel. But I do wonder why Rosie seems to care so much about Charlie even though they have barely interacted. 

But I was surprised when Velvette and Valentino went to help, more when it seemed to be working with the other overlords. But it was cool, despite what people say, I really want to see at least one of the Vees get redeemed and I'm definitely thinking its gonna be Val when or if it happens. What do you think? 

Finally hell gets to see the Great and Redeemed Sir Pentious, but when cherri sees him she tears him apart, but I know its just because they care about each other. Then that moment of Nifty hugging Baxter. Ah they are so cute. Then when Sera comes and sees Emilys wing she just hugs her. But I died laughing seeing Shok.wav try to enter V tower and Vox trying to spin it like oh Im so crazy, you know me. I just almost killed all of us for nothing but its not a big deal. But luckily Val is having none of it. I've never been so extremely happy to suddenly crushed as when Angel decided to go back to Val, and poor Husk he was just destroyed. I flat out cried for Husk when he asked Angel not to go. Then it switches back to the hotel, Charlie tries to call her mom, telling her about the hotel and to ignore her previous messages, but everything seems to be going well.Then Vaggie changes her name to Vaggi, cutting off the last letter of her previous name gee I wonder who that reminds me of. Blitz. And we already know theres a crossover in the works, I feel like Vaggi and Blitz would get along. 

Anywho Vaggie becomes the Hotel Manager and Alastor is back at the hotel while we find out that the Vees managed to spin the story that Valentino had saved the city and that it seems he's in charge now and they might change the Vox tech name. I love that. So not only did Vox lose his mind, Alastor, his body, his popularity and now he's gonna lose his company too. I'd feel bad for him if he wasn't complete garbage, but here's hoping he manages to scrap himself together and get redeemed. 

Is it bad that I want all the Vees to get redeemed, just to prove to Vox is possible. But Poor Husk, carrying Fat Nuggets, but at least hes got Cherrie by his side here's hoping that Angel can come to his senses. 

But I was really happy for Cherrie and Sir Pentious, and Emily must be so happy sending the gift baskets back and forth and finally we end the season with a phone call from Charlie's mom! Vox Tries to Make Hell Great Again… ☆ Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Episode 5-6 Review

Hi guys, welcome back! So they dropped Episodes 5 and 6 of Hazbin Hotel Season 2 and WOW, this was absolutely not what I expected, but let’s dive right into it. 

Episode 5 opens with Katie Killjoy thirsting for Vox like she’s auditioning for Pick Me: The Musical. Girl. He does NOT want you. Then Bad With Us starts, and I loved Camilla Carmine’s entrance. And Vox, wearing that… salsa mariachi fusion disaster, of an outfit trying to impress her while Valentino is in the background looking like he wants to slam his head into drywall. I didn't think Vox would put his selfishness to the side long enough to gather the other overlords but he caught a good chunk of them like they're Pokemon. 

Then we arrive at Charlie. Sweet, naive and spiraling Charlie. When I saw her blasting fireworks in the trailer I thought she was protecting the hotel. But actually? She was sending magical SOS signals like, “Emily! Over here! Notice me!!” The Charlie, Vaggie interaction was so sweet at first… then instantly heartbreaking. More when you realize Charlie’s spiraling so hard trying to prove Sinners can be redeemed, that she isn’t seeing how Vaggie is literally keeping the hotel running with duct tape and vibes. Girl. SNAP OUT OF IT. And Vaggie going to Lucifer for help? Only to find out he can’t really intervene with sinners?? Did not expect that. But the bribe Mammon left him? Hilarious. 

Also, the “No Alastors” sign. Why is it plural? Is that even an option?? Should we be concerned? Because I’m concerned. I think we have quite enough trouble with one Radio Demon. Then, THE GREAT QUACKSBY. I lost it. I need an entire Duck Gatsby spinoff IMMEDIATELY. Amazon make it happen! 

Then it switches back to Charlie using the last bit of her energy to try to get Emily's attention but then we see that Emily, Sera, Lute, Able and Peter are all watching her while Emily is trying to convince Sera to let them go down and talk to Charlie. But Sir Pentious showing up with cookies?? And Emily saying she invited him because he’s a “Hell expert”?? Ma’am, he is an expert in exactly TWO things: crying and inventing things that go boom but then he drops that “It starts with sorry” line referencing Charlie and my HEART. He really misses his hotel family. 

Once Charlie finally sees them, she absolutely PANICS. Emily’s 100% supportive of couse, and Sera looks completely traumatized and Abel still looks like he's wondering if he left the stove on. Then we jump to Vox, and Alastor is STILL managing to ruin his day while being tied to a chair. Vox tries to hype his “vision,” pissing Valentino off. Then I absolutely loved Lucifer's part of Vox Populi! Lucifer singing saying that he's so spooky had me chuckling and it seems that Vox is completely unfazed by him and basically starts his political campaign. I can see the cringe bumper stickers and hats now! Vox saying the Trump catchphrase was took me out. Oh sure Vox, Make Hell Great Again? Again? Its Hell isnt it, the whole point is that it stinks? But I'm sure Vox already has the hats and bumper stickers ready. When the angel squad pulls up with Charlie, he IMMEDIATELY folds like a lawn chair left in the sun. THIS is why he will never outshine Alastor. Vox is a dainty porcelain teacup. Alastor is a cursed diamond that whispers at you in the dark. They might have been equals in the past but Alastor completely outshines him no matter what. 

Emily handing out gift baskets as an apology for genocide… NO. Vox was right for ONCE in his life. A gift basket does not cancel mass murder. Sir Pentious playing with his new angelic egg bois? ADORABLE. But yeah, Hell wanting revenge makes sense. Vox is lying and manipulative … but every cult leader sprinkles in ONE tiny truth. Charlie being upset makes sense… but taking it out on Vaggie? She’s hurting the hotel AND herself and now we see exactly how Lucifer and Lilith probably fell apart. Talk about TRAGIC. 

Then we go on to Episode 6, Vox trying to smooth talk Camilla, trying the line that he just wants to continue where Lilith left off. Please… lets be so real right now he just wants power, and maybe to kill God on his lunch break. Camilla’s not having it until he manipulates her by offering to protect her daughters. Even Zestial looked confused how she ended up saying yes? I mean they are hellborn, they are not even targets. But I loved how Camilla shuts Vox down at first, and he just instantly tosses Velvette under the bus with, “She’s here to apologize for her childish behavior.” Like… sir? YOU are the petty one here! Have you seen how you act around Alastor?? And Velvette? Somehow she manages to stay somewhat calm and apologizes. I swear I thought she was going to throw her chair at him and leave. 

Then Husk rage quitting because of Charlie and Vaggies fighting. Honestly I thought he'd leave once Alastor was out of the picture, but I guess he's really a softie at heart! Also Nifty and Baxter playing patty cake off on the side was super cute! Though I do wonder how Nifty convinced him to do this! It was so cool how both Vaggie and Charlie reacted in the same way when they heard that Camila was making weapons for Vox despite fighting and they both went to talk to her, but leaving Nifty in charge of the hotel? Like what? Why? Leave Cherri. Leave a Roomba. Leave literally ANYONE else. I was surprised that Husk went to a casino, thought he had outgrown all of that but his solo song Love in a bottle is amazing! It's extremely sad, but at the same time the music is great! 

Vaggie and Charlie go to talk to Camilla, fighting each other all the way there. Camilla explains to them that she doesn't have time for their theatrics and that she's helping Vox to keep her daughters safe. Then Angel's new song Losin Streak was totally amazing and it's a great reply to Husks song but I have to say Velvette outdid herself on Angel's dress. It's totally gorgeous! 

Then Valentino working with his top talent to find a good costar for Angel. Oh my gosh. But then Vox comes in and kicks everyone out. Val isnt happy, then Vox ask to borrow Angel, which puts him in an even worse mood. Vox explains that the next step in his big plan is going to make Charlie wanna delete herself, but wouldnt doing that break his deal with Alastor? I mean the deal, was that he couldn't hurt Charlie. Soooo? Is Vox just not thinking this through? Who knows? Val tells him that its his and Velvette's plan too! That he doesn't want to be sitting backstage again, Vox tries to manipulate him but Velvette and Alastor pop up almost out of nowhere. And Velvette makes a great point, Vox only makes time for them when he needs something because of course he does. 

Then Alastor laughs at him and Vox tries to brainwash Val with his abilities despite knowing full well they don't work on him. Alastor is really driving Vox insane and I love that the Vees are slowly getting separated and it's all because Vox is being a power hungry maniac and trying to prove himself to Alastor but I absolutely loved when Valentino tells Vox hes from Florida and throws his drink at him hilarious! 

Then of course Vaggie comes back to the hotel and naturally it's a complete disaster because well, she left Nifty in charge. What did she expect? But it was great to see that Nifty and Baxter became closer and he helped her to make a bug band, which is absolutely cool. I need a CD of the Bug Band! 

Then it gets better when Charlie and Vaggie make up. I gotta admit I was worried there for awhile. and Charlie really dropped a bomb, she was working on the hotel in part because she thought that if she did a good enough job that her Mom would come back. I mean we all knew Charlie had Daddy issues but now its confirmed that she has Mommy issues too. One could say she has more issues than she has tissues. But I will say this I absolutely love the Vaggie Charlie song, Easy. Its so good. And I absolutely love Charlies dress in it. Its so pretty and flowy! Then Husk telling Angel that he quit the hotel, I could tell he seemed really disappointed. Angel asks if Husk is still mad at him, which fair enough but Husk shouldn't have gotten mad in the first place but he did because he doesn't think he's worth it. I feel for both of them. But they desperately need each other, they both make the other better. And I loved how Angel told Husk that hed see him later at the hotel even tho husk said he quit. Because they both know deep down that Husk wants to stay at the hotel because Angel is there. Then that ending… I actually loved it. Valentino is clearly furious with Vox for how he’s treating Angel. And yeah, Val is awful, no denying that, but I genuinely think Vox’s behavior is forcing him to look in the mirror. The way he held Angel’s hand at the end? If he didn’t care at least a little, he wouldn’t have done that. Sure Valentino and Angels relationship is completely toxic, but I’m starting to feel like Val is having his first tiny spark of self reflection. He hates being controlled by Vox, and it’s finally clicking that he’s been doing the same thing to Angel. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments! Also, can sinners even use their powers against Lucifer?? I HOPE NOT because Vox is about to go full villain mode and I dont think Im ready. My Crazy Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Theory Might Be True☆

 

Hi and welcome back, I have a big theory about Hazbin Hotel Season 2! So we know Vox is going to use his powers to brainwash the citizens of hell and possibly members of the hotel but I remembered that Vox isn't the only one with this ability….. 

You know who else has this ability? Sir Pentious. 

Remember when he put the camera up for the Vees and Angel found him, when he was scared he stunned Angel for some seconds.  So, if he leaves heaven and comes back to hell, I think it would be possible for him to counter Vox. I know he did it then as a knee jerk reaction but imagine if he practices or has another massive knee jerk reaction. 

How cool would that be? I mean, Vox and the Vees underestimated him, Alastor underestimated him. But he's the only sinner who got redeemed and went to heaven. So if he chooses to come back, I can definitely see that putting a wrench in Vox's plan.
