Hi! Today we’re unboxing Zoe with a Suitcase, also known in her secret identity as Defa Lucy: Colorful Day. Yes, she has two names, because apparently even dolls need stage names now. Barbie walks in and says, “Hi, I’m Barbie.” Zoe says, “Hi, I’m Zoe, but on weekends I’m Lucy.” Okay, diva.

And let me just say, I am loving these dolls. They’re so extra in the best way. Like, Zoe doesn’t just come with a suitcase, she comes with a whole lifestyle. She looks ready for a trip to Paris, while my version of travel chic is sweatpants, snacks, and praying my luggage is under 50 pounds.

Today, we are embarking on a very serious, extremely professional mission… okay fine, we’re just ripping open a box like it owes us money but it’s for a good cause, because inside waits the Zoe Retro Doll, also known by her many alter egos, Defa Lucy and Brittany. Honestly, she’s like the Moon Knight of dolls, multiple identities, endless drama, and somehow she pulls off every look.

So, what’s the deal with Zoe? Well, the packaging alone made me gasp. If nostalgia, 90s mall fashion, and a touch of “why did I think this was stylish as a kid?” had a baby, it would be this box however, getting her out of the plastic was like trying to free a celebrity from the paparazzi but Zoe struts out like she’s on the runway at Paris Fashion Week, except smaller, plastic, and somehow still judging me.

She’s got more personality in one green hair than I have in my entire wardrobe and the side eye? Legendary!
